Major: Elementary Education
ExperienceI worked with elementary school students in a program called SURF (Salisbury University Reading Friends) where I helped students improve their reading skills and enjoy reading at the same time. In high school, I took up to Spanish 4 so I have a minimal but existing ability to read, speak and understand Spanish if a Spanish speaking student needed assistance. In high school,I took AP pyschology and passed the exam to recieve college credit. I find pyschology very interesting and was originally a psych major. However, I realized that I enjoy helping and teaching others and switched my major to elementary education which I think will benefit me greatly as a tutor. I scored a 1530 on my SAT and passed the Praxis I for Education. I would consider my self an effective test taker and would like to help others by sharing with them my study habits and skills. I have taken EDUC 304 Learning and Assessment which focuses on the best ways that students learn and the most beneficial ways to test a student. I think that class is a great foundation for those who would like to tutor other students.
HobbiesOne of my favorite topics is history. I love talking about history and watching movies and documentaries based on historical events. I am very athletic and enjoy playing sports such as softball, lacrosse and volleyball. I am outgoing and enjoying being outdoors, especially at the beach. I really enjoy working with children.
